 Mr Mark Adams, Vice President Purchasing, TOYOTA
Mark Adams
Graduate in Production Engineering and Management from Loughborough University of Technology – UK.
Early career at Rover Group and later Leyland DAF.
Joined Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK Purchasing in 1992 and has been responsible for the development of Toyota’s European Purchasing strategy and organisation.
Transferred to Toyota Motor Europe HQ in Brussels in 2001, now holding the
position of Vice President, Purchasing. Achieved centralisation of the buying function in Brussels to place Purchasing together with R&D in the same location. Forthcoming challenges include creating technical development relationships with the key European suppliers focused on the growing Technical Centre resources in Brussels.

 Mr Jean-Francois Baril, Senior Vice President, Sourcing and Procurement, NOKIA
Jean-François Baril
Jean-Francois Baril is the Senior Vice President, Sourcing and Procurement for Nokia Corporation, based in Espoo Finland. He joined Nokia Group on January 1999.
Prior to joining Nokia, Jean Francois was Director at Compaq, where he was leading the European Sourcing and Materials responsibilities based in Erskine, Scotland from 1994 to 1997. He then moved to Houston Texas from 1997 to 1999 as both Director, Corporate Procurement for the Mass Storage and Director Sourcing for Compaq Storage business unit.
Jean-François started his career in Sourcing and Procurement at Hewlett-Packard,
Grenoble, France in 1984 where he held various responsibilities including the worldwide leadership for Sourcing for the HP Personal Computer division between 1991 and 1994.
Other industrial experiences include two years on offshore platforms in West Africa with Schlumberger and one year at Commissariat a L’Energie Atomique in France as a Research Engineer.
Jean-Francois was Chairman of the Electronic Component Board for RosettaNet from 2002 to 2004. Jean-Francois has been nominated in January 2003 “Conseiller du Commerce Exterieur” by the French Minister of Commerce. Jean-Francois is also Board Member of NetOnNet company listed in Stockholm.

 Mrs Geneviève Ferone, Sustainable Development VP, VEOLIA ENVIRONMENT
Geneviève Ferone
PhD in Law and graduated from Business School, Geneviève Ferone has worked in various international institutions such as EAI, OECD, and CHR. From 1992 to 1996, she worked in California, in a firm specialised in pension funds and socially responsible investment. In 1997, she created the 1st French extra-financial rating agency. From 2006 to 2008, she was Director Sustainable Development for the group Eiffage and she is currently working in Veolia Environment as Sustainable Development VP.
Geneviève Ferone wrote several books on pension funds and on sustainable
development. She recently published “2030, le krach écologique” (Editions Grasset).

 Mrs Paola Ghillani, Member of the board, MIGROS; CEO, PAOLA GHILLANI & FRIENDS Ltd.

Paola Ghillani got Bacalaureat at College du Sud, Bulle, Switzerland. Then she got a Pharmacist Diploma at University of Lausanne, Switzerland, followed by International General Management for Executives and International Program for Board Management at IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland.

 Mr Bernard Gracia, Director of EIPM
Bernard Gracia
In 1976, Bernard GRACIA collaborated in the launching of one of the first post-graduate programme in Purchasing in the world (M.A.I – Master Industrial Purchasing for the Bordeaux Business School). As Director of this post-graduate programme, Bernard GRACIA developed M.A.I Diploma as a market standard in France.
As director of MAI  (Master programme in Industrial Purchasing) in Bordeaux in the 80’s, Bernard developed an important network of Purchasing  Managers  and positioned the MAI Diploma as market standard in France.
In 1990, he gathered companies such as Aerospatiale, Alcatel,
Bull,Nokia,
Pechiney, Philips and Renault associated with the European Union to found  the European Institute of Purchasing Management. (EIPM)
As director of EIPM, heaunched the first  MBA programme specialised in  Purchasing Management in  Europe on  December 1991 and the first  European Roundtable for Senior Executives in 1993.
Bernard GRACIA acts mainly in consulting strategy, training engineering for multinational companies such as DuPont, Alcan, Bayer, Volvo, …
He also gives courses and develops research activities for companies mainly on competences and excellence model.

 Dr Laurent Jehanin, Vice President Purchasing Strategy and Support, SAFRAN
Laurent Jehanin
Laurent is Vice President Purchasing Strategy and Support at Safran.
Laurent started his involvement in Purchasing by leading two large improvement programmes.
The last one in 2002 – 2003 with 500 M € savings.
Laurent was Safran Group Vice President purchasing from 2003 to 2007.
Today, Laurent is leading two initiatives at Safran Corporate level:
• Purchasing and suppliers innovation management
• Purchasing and Sustainable growth
Laurent is the President of ACA, the association of the Purchasing and Supply Chain master of Paris HEC. Laurent is a graduate in political science, a post graduate in economics and doctor in management science of Paris Dauphine University.
Safran is a high technology aerospace and defence company and is a result of a merger between Snecma and Sagem in 2005. In 2007 the turnower was 12 Billion € with an operating result of 706 M € and a net result of 406 M €. The spent was around 7 Billion €.

 Dr. Peter Laurence – EIPM Director of Research
Perter Laurence
A seasoned Supply Chain professional, Peter has spent over 30 years at senior management level in industries ranging from telecommunications, consumer goods and pharmaceutical manufacturing. Special Advisor and Past Chairman of The Conference Board European Council on Global Supply Chain, Peter is actively promoting the role of supply chain management as a key value driver. He obtained his Masters Degree in Production Engineering at the University of Birmingham and was awarded a Doctorate from the University of Loughborough for his research into Materials Management simulation modelling. Peter is a member of faculty at the European Institute of Purchasing Management, where
he is Director of Research and Professor of Supply Chain Management.

 Mr Paul Massih – Vice President Strategy, Shell Contract & Procurement
Paul Massih
Mr. Paul Massih has over 20 years of supply chain, procurement and contracting experience. In his last position he served as Vice President of Procurement for Chevron Global Downstream, LLC. He was responsible for the company’s sourcing strategies, supply chain management and procurement and contracting activities for its four major businesses (Refining, Marketing, Lubricants, Shipping and Trading). Since joining Chevron in 2000, Mr Massih held various positions including General Manager of Capital Project Procurement for Chevron Corporation and led Chevron’s procurement merger team during the Chevron-Texaco merger. Prior to joining Chevron, Mr. Missih held various positions at
Fluor Corporation from 1987 to 2000 including Procurement Department Manager and Global Sourcing Manager. Mr. Massih also worked for three years with Saudi Aramco as a Project Procurement Manager in Houston.
Mr. Massih joined SHELL in September 2007 as Vice President of Contracting and Procurement strategy. In this role he is responsible for bringing world class contracting and procurement practices and strategies to help SHELL businesses secure safe, reliable and cost effective products and services.
Mr Massih is a graduate of the University of Houston with a BS in Business and Commerce and a degree in Purchasing and Material Management.

 Mr Jean-Noël Puissant – Head of Procurement Planning,  PHILIP MORRIS INTERNATIONAL
Jean-Noël Puissant

Jean-Noël Puissant is a Head of Procurement Planning at Philip Morris International since 2007. He is responsible for setting up procurement strategies which support the global business vision, assuring compliance, establishing procurement metrics and recommending purchasing organisation structure and development.

After 4 years with Kraft Foods Europe, Jean-Noël joined Philip Morris International in 1992. During his time with the company he has been active at both operational (Germany) and corporate levels where his last two

assignments consisted in leading the Direct Materials global sourcing activities and re-engineering the Indirect Materials & Services procurement function accross the company.

 Dr Nicolas Reinecke, Leader of Global Purchasing and Supply Management Practice, member of the leadership group of the European Operation Practice, McKINSEY
Dr Nicolas Reinecke
Dr. Nicolas Reinecke is Principal in the McKinsey Hamburg Office (former Offices include New York/New Jersey and Silicon Valley). He is leader of McKinsey's Global Purchasing and Supply Management Practice and member of the leadership group of the European Operation Practice. Since joining McKinsey in 1996, he has focused on operations engagements with a particular focus on manufacturing and procurement. He holds the degree of a Dr.-Ing. (Ph.D.) in energy and chemical engineering and a Dipl.-Ing. (M.Sc. and B.A.) in mechanical engineering from the University of Hannover.
He has done research in the field of oil processing, multiphase flows and
chemical reactions at MIT.

 Mr Pierre-François Thaler, Managing Director, Eco Vadis
Pierre-François Thaler
Pierre-François Thaler, is a co-founder of Eco Vadis – a leading provider of Sustainable Supply Management solutions. Eco Vadis On-Demand platform allows large organisations to assess the environmental & social performance of their suppliers, providing seamless integration of these new criteria into their procurement processes. Pierre-François is the co-author of the “HEC Sustainable Procurement Benchmark” published in 2007 by HEC Business School, and wrote multiple articles on this topic.
Pierre-François brings 13 years experience in Purchasing, working for global
industrial companies and innovative service providers. He was previously director of e-Procurement for ALSTOM and CEO of B2Build the first electronic procurement solution for the European construction industry. Prior to joining Eco Vadis, he was a director of ARIBA Procurement Outsourcing business.
Pierre-François is an electrical engineer by trade, holding a Master of Science from Supelec and a MBA from Insead.
