Purchasing Trophy 2008 : Victory for AXA and EIPM in the category
“Evaluation and development of purchasing performance”

Monday 14 April 2008, the Mogador theatre in Paris opened its doors to the second Edition of the Purchasing Trophy 2008, under the patronage of the CDAF (Association des Dirigeants et Acheteurs de France).

This event, which attracted more than 1200 participants, recognised initiatives which were judged to be exemplary in terms of the purchasing policies and practices of businesses and public institutions.

On this occasion, AXA and EIPM (European Institute of Purchasing Management) were awarded the trophy for the best “evaluation and development of purchasing performance” by a jury of professionals.

The EIPM, a leading European training institution, has been supporting purchasing specialists around the world since 1990. Recognised for its expertise, the Institute has developed a complete range of solutions which address all of the needs that a business may have. From the Part-time MBA with Specialisation in Purchasing and Supply (the only MBA with purchasing specialisation accredited by the Association of MBAs) to the tailor made in-company programmes, all of the demands allied to the purchasing function are taken into account.

To respond to the demands of companies in Europe and around the world with training solutions which are both global and local, EIPM developed more than 3 years ago “Bee Resources^©” : a performance evaluation tool for the purchasing profession, accessible through the Internet in 8 different languages.

“Bee Resources^©” has already been used by more than 3’000 people around the world coming from 15 international groups. The methodology employed is adapted to the evaluation needs of both industrial purchasing and for the procurement of services.

Award winner of the Purchasing Trophy 2008, “Bee Resources^©” allowed AXA to evaluate the performance of their teams and to define the most suitable training approach by job and by country.

EIPM offers free “pilot” evaluations for 3 to 5 people in purchasing to potential partners. A demonstration version is accessible on www.eipm.org
