The EIPM has developed three Certification programmes covering the main purchasing functions

It meets the needs of purchasing practitioners who want formal recognition of their professional skills

The Certification programme helps participants increase their professional expertise and start with a new position

It integrates a coherent set of training sessions which accompany the buyers
and purchasing managers throughout their career.

The Certification programme for Professional Buyers prepares participants to manage a purchasing portfolio

This course is targeted to provide the fundamental purchasing process and tools to buyers with less than 2 years of experience and with mostly local purchasing responsibility. It is also suitable to provide a purchasing culture to Purchasing Assistants, “internal customers”; it could also be formal training to seasoned Site Buyers who have not been to a purchasing training in the past.

  Level 1  



To obtain the Certification participants need to:

  • Attend the three week Professional Buyers' course or attend each Purchasing Module which makes up the three week course.
  • Pass the knowledge acquisition test’s and present their project to a jury for validation

The Certification programme for Expert Buyers is tailored for lead buyers responsible for a major portfolio, project buyers for an important function or as plant buyer for one or several sites
This course is targeted to provide strategic tools to buyers with more than 3 years of experience and having regional and global category management responsibility. It is also suitable to newly appointed buyers with regional and global category management responsibility and several years of experience in other functions (for example: R&D, Product Engineers, Maintenance Engineers, Chemists, etc…).

 
  Level 2  



To obtain the Certification participants need to:

  • Attend the three week Expert Buyers' course or attend each Purchasing Module which makes up the three week course.
  • Pass the knowledge acquisition test’s and present their project to a jury for validation

The Certification programme for Purchasing Managers focuses mainly on management and leadership capabilities as the technical aspects of purchasing are known to the participants
This course is targeted to Purchasing Managers and Directors in charge of a purchasing organization and responsible for setting up Purchasing Strategies to the Business Units or Sites under his/her responsibility. It can also be useful for Senior Buyers who shortly shall take management position.

  Level 3  



To obtain the Certification participants need to:

  • Attend the two week Purchasing Managers' course or attend each Purchasing Module which makes up the two week course.
  • Pass the knowledge acquisition test’s and present their project to a jury for validation
